Spent $60 on a kitchen scale that measures in grams and ounces
I finally got a proper digital scale after years of using measuring cups for my flour and sugar. Turns out I was adding way too much flour to my bread recipes, which made them dense like hockey pucks. Has anyone else fixed a consistent problem in their baking just by switching to weighing ingredients?

Dude this was literally me until like two months ago. I spent those years baking bricks thinking it was just "how bread is". Weighing changed everything. Just make sure you zero out the bowl before adding stuff, I kept forgetting and threw off my whole rise. Also if your recipes use volume for liquids too switch those over, water weight is super easy to figure out.

Did you ever try adjusting the flour without a scale or did you just accept dense bread?
