That time a wedding cake I made crumbled in front of 60 guests
My cousin asked me to bake her wedding cake last June. I practiced for weeks and thought I had it perfect. But the morning of the wedding at the venue in Austin, I realized I forgot to add enough butter to the frosting. The whole thing slid apart right as they brought it out. Has anyone else had a baking fail happen at the worst possible moment?

Had a birthday cake collapse at my niece's party once, turned into a "deconstructed" dessert real quick.

That butter situation is the worst, happened to me with a chocolate mousse cake for my sister's bridal shower. The mousse just would not set because I skimped on the gelatin, ended up with this soupy mess oozing out of the cake layers during the cake cutting. Nobody really mentioned it again but I think about it every time I see a chocolate cake. The real kicker is nobody even knew how much work went into those test batches, so it just looks like you showed up unprepared when really you just messed up one tiny thing.
