That sound guy who told me to 'just turn it up' during our only real gig

We played a basement show in Tucson in 2019 and the house sound guy heard our whole 1st song then said 'just turn it up' while my amp was already screaming into a 200 person room, I still think about how our bassist's feedback ruined the 2nd song every time I open my recording of that night, has anyone else had a sound person completely ignore a band's mix?
