Update: my drum teacher in Akron said to record the room, not just the kit, and man he had a point
I moved my one RadioShack mic from the snare to the corner of my basement last month and suddenly the demo sounded like a real band instead of cardboard boxes, so what weird mic spot did someone talk any of you into?
