Dad told me to check the easy stuff first on a dead outlet, spent 45 minutes chasing a breaker before I saw the GFCI button popped.
Found that little reset button in my basement bathroom, clicked it back in, and the whole upstairs living room lit up again, has anyone else ignored the most obvious fix for way too long?

My buddy Dave did basically the same thing last month. He spent a whole Saturday rewiring a bathroom light switch thinking it was dead. Turns out his wife had accidentally kicked the cord on the hair dryer and popped the GFCI in the garage. He called me all mad about it and I couldn't stop laughing because he's an electrician by trade. He said he felt like a total rookie.
