Warning: my 'quick' 404 page fix took 3 months and 40 tabs
I spotted a broken link on my old blog's recipe page back in April, and figured I'd just swap the URL and move on, but the redirect chain led me down a rabbit hole of archived pages, old image paths, and a plugin conflict I never knew existed. It took me until July, roughly 14 weekends, to actually trace every dead link back to a single folder rename I did in 2017, which felt ridiculous for something I thought was a 10 minute job. Has anyone else had a simple site fix balloon into a full archaeology project, and how long did your detour end up taking?
