Gave up on a 40 chapter fanfic at chapter 6, then tried the podfic version on my commute and now I'm on chapter 31
I hit a wall with this 220k word fic about a month ago, reading felt like homework so I quit around chapter 6. Then I tried the audio version a lady recorded back in 2021 and something clicked, mostly because I could listen while driving to the shop in the morning. The slow parts that dragged on the page actually land better out loud, the narrator pauses on the little details instead of rushing past them. I'm on chapter 31 now and kind of glad the reading version didn't work out. Has anyone else switched formats halfway through a long fic and had it completely change how it hits?
