That 9-part forum post about a guy restoring a 1910 house

I sat on my couch last Tuesday and read the whole thing. He spent 3 weeks just stripping paint off one window frame. But when he finally got to the part about finding the original wallpaper underneath, I actually yelled 'yes' out loud. Anyone else get hooked on those long renovation sagas that go nowhere for hours?

Read somewhere that old house restorations are basically like detective work, peeling back layers of someone else's bad decisions lol. That original wallpaper find was the payoff after all that paint stripping grind, totally get the hype. Binge-read a thread once where a guy spent two months just fixing a foundation crack, and I was weirdly invested the whole time.

Hell yeah, that foundation crack guy deserves a medal for patience - I've been known to spend a whole weekend staring at a leaky pipe and calling it "research" myself. What's the wildest thing you've uncovered behind a wall?
