That porch project took me 6 months longer than I planned
I decided to refinish my front porch back in April. I figured it would be a weekend job, sand and stain, maybe two days tops. But then I found rot under the old paint, and then the lumber yard was out of the stain color I wanted for three weeks, and then it rained for a week straight. I finally finished last Saturday, six months later, and I still have a can of stain left over. Has anyone else had a home project balloon way past what you thought it would take?

Learned a similar lesson after my deck took three seasons instead of one weekend!

Oh man, @noah_palmer42 and I must be in the same home improvement support group because my "quick bathroom paint job" turned into a full gut renovation that took eight months.
