The 2011 blog post that took 40 paragraphs to explain a filing cabinet

I stumbled on a personal finance blog from 2011 where the writer spent 40 paragraphs describing how she organized her receipts by color before she even got to the actual budgeting tip. I almost closed the tab, but something kept me going. Turns out the payoff was a simple trick: she dated every envelope and kept a running tally on the outside, so she could spot spending patterns without opening them. I tried it for 3 months with my own envelopes, and it honestly cut my monthly review time from an hour to ten minutes. The slow buildup was annoying, but the detail made the method stick in my brain way better than a short list. Has anyone else found an old, rambling post that had a gem buried under all the fluff?
