Unpopular opinion: reading Wattpad comments while catching up on a 200-chapter fic spoiled a twist I'd waited weeks for
I started a long fantasy fic back in March and was binging it slow, maybe 10 chapters a night. Around chapter 120 I peeked at the comment section and someone dropped a major spoiler about the brother, and it wrecked the next 40 chapters for me. It took me about 3 weeks to figure out that I should just hide comments until I'm fully caught up, which sounds obvious but I kept doing it. Now I read the chapter first, then scroll back to the comments after, and the story hits way harder. Does anyone else have a rule for when they let themselves read comments on a long fic?
