Warning: I read 40 slow burn stories in 2024 and wasted a year on the wrong kind
I figured out around the 30th story that I was confusing "long" with "slow" and skipping anything that didn't hook me by chapter 20, which meant I missed stuff like the Fargo parking lot story that only clicks on a second read. What's the longest slow burn you stuck with before the payoff actually landed, and did the wait feel earned or like wasted chapters?
