Dropped $50 on a 'vintage' baking blog subscription that turned out to be a dead link graveyard

I found this blog called 'Rustic Spoon Diaries' run by some lady in Ohio who supposedly posted heritage pie recipes from the 1800s, so I paid $50 for a yearly subscription to her archive. Turned out half the links redirect to spammy fitness sites and she hasn't posted anything since 2019. Has anyone else gotten burned by a paid blog that looked promising but was just abandoned?

lol $50 for a graveyard of dead links and spammy fitness sites sounds like a steal. I'd be more upset if I hadn't already gotten burned by a similar thing last year - paid $30 for a "curated list of indie music blogs" that was literally just three links to broken Tumblr pages and a picture of someone's dog. Guess the lady in Ohio is running the same grift as everyone else.

@brian_ward55 I used to think paid subscriptions for niche blogs were totally worth it too. But after I got charged $25 for a "secret family Italian sauce recipes" site that turned out to be three PDFs full of typos and a link to a frozen pizza ad, I changed my mind completely. That Ohio lady probably realized she could make more money from affiliate fitness links than actually writing about 1800s pie crusts.
