Finally found a blog that tracks abandoned gas stations by state

Last month I was looking up old Route 66 stuff and stumbled on this site called GasStationGraveyard.com. Some guy named Tim in Ohio has been cataloging every closed station he finds since 2018, with photos and GPS coordinates. I already sent him tips on two stations near Tulsa. Anyone else got a weird niche blog they check every few weeks?

Huh, I gotta say I see it kinda different. Following abandoned gas stations feels a little too close to just cataloging decay, you know? I'd rather look at blogs about old diners or motels that are still hanging on, places with a little life left in them. Like there's one near me that's been converted into a used bookstore, that's way more interesting to me than a bunch of rusted pumps.

Wait, you actually got me thinking here. I've always been into the old gas stations myself, the ones with the cracked glass and faded signs, but that bookstore idea sounds way cooler. There's this old motor lodge near me that turned into a little vinyl record shop and coffee spot, and honestly it's got way more soul than the boarded up places I usually snap photos of. Maybe I've been missing the point of what makes these old buildings special.
