Found a blog about fixing old vacuums that saved me $150 last month
My trusty little shop vac (the one I use in my cleaning business) started making this awful grinding noise last month and I almost just trashed it. But then I stumbled on this tiny blog run by some retired repair guy in Ohio who only posts like twice a month. He had a whole write up about worn carbon brushes in the motor and how to swap them out for like 8 bucks. I figured why not try it since a new vac would run me around $150 or more. Took me maybe 20 minutes with a screwdriver and the thing runs smoother than it did when I first bought it 3 years ago. The blog has maybe 12 posts total and the design looks straight out of 2002 but the info is legit gold. Anyone else find a niche repair blog that actually knows their stuff?

My dad had a website from 2001 that looked like that but it had the best canoe repair tips.
