Found a blog that just reviews old public domain sci-fi covers
Stumbled on 'Pulp Covers Project' last month, it's this one-person blog that posts a new cover every Tuesday. The writer breaks down the art, the artist if known, and the wild plot. I had to choose between sharing it here or keeping it my little secret. I decided to post about it because more people should see this stuff. Anyone know other blogs digging into super niche art history like this?

Yeah I got super into that 'Retro Space Art' blog you mentioned a while back, it's wild how much effort went into those covers. Actually my uncle was a commercial artist in the 70s and he told me once that some of those guys would knock out a cover in like two days just for the paycheck, no time to even read the book. He did album covers for a local band and the process was basically the same, just slapping something together that looked cool enough to sell. Completely different world from the digital stuff now where you can zoom in and obsess over every pixel.

Good find, sharing was the right call. The 'Retro Space Art' blog does similar deep dives on 50s rocket ship art. Also check out 'Forgotten Paperbacks' on Tumblr, they track down the artists. Those old covers are a whole lost history. Makes you want to start your own blog honestly.
