Hot take: bookmarking a blog is not the same as reading it, and I lost 3 hours finding that out
Six days ago I found a blog about repairing old transistor radios, maybe 40 posts deep, and I bookmarked every single one into a folder I named "later." Last night I finally opened that folder to fix my dad's busted Panasonic from 1974, and half the links were dead. Not just dead, parked on weird domain pages. I spent 3 hours digging through archive sites and a forum in Ohio to find mirrors of posts I thought I already had. The guy who ran it quit in 2019 and let the domain lapse, and nobody saved the schematics. Now I keep a plain text file with the actual text of every good post I find, because a bookmark is just a promise you make to yourself that you probably won't keep. Anyone else have a folder like this that turned into a graveyard?
