My blog about old concrete stamps hit 100 views last month

I started it in 2018 just to archive photos of patterns from the 70s and 80s that you don't see anymore. In my experience, it's a super niche thing, so I figured maybe five people would ever look at it. When the counter ticked over to 100, it was a real surprise. It mattered because it meant a few other folks out there still care about that old-school craft. Has anyone else had a tiny, weird blog find its handful of readers?

That "super niche" feeling is so real! My friend has a blog just about the different sounds old refrigerators make when they turn on. He started it as a joke, but last year he got an email from a museum curator who was trying to date an appliance in an exhibit and his recordings were the only reference. He was floored that his weird little thing actually helped someone.

I knew a guy who spent three years cataloging the exact shade of rust on every fire hydrant in his county. He swore it was "mapping corrosion patterns" but honestly it looked like he just enjoyed taking photos of orange metal. Tried to get a local historical society interested and they basically yawned and said "cool hobby bro." So when I hear these "museum curator reached out" stories I always wonder how much of it is real and how much is wishful thinking. Your friend's situation sounds like a one in a million fluke, not proof that every weird blog has some hidden academic value.

Super niche" is putting it lightly, but hey, a hundred people is a crowd.
