Shoutout to my neighbor's cat for breaking my blog footer
Last Tuesday I was tweaking my blog's CSS theme at 2 AM and my neighbor's cat somehow got into my apartment through a cracked window. It jumped on my keyboard, hit some random keys, and completely deleted my footer layout code before running off. I spent an hour trying to undo whatever mess it made before giving up and rewriting the whole thing from scratch. Has anyone else had a pet or random animal mess up their blogging setup in a weird way?

My buddy Steve had a parrot that somehow learned to copy the sound of his mouse clicking. Every time he sat down to write a blog post, that bird would start clicking away from its cage across the room. He kept thinking his mouse was double clicking and messing up his WordPress interface. It drove him crazy for two weeks before he figured out the parrot was mimicking the sound perfectly. He had to move the bird to the other side of the house just to finish a single article.

Got a similar story with my own parrot. I had to start closing my laptop lid completely when I wasn't typing because she would mimic the sound of me saving a file. Took me way longer than two weeks to catch on because she only did it when I was in the middle of writing, not all the time. What finally worked was recording the actual mouse click and playing it back on a loop near her cage until she got bored of it. Took maybe three days of that before she dropped the habit. Like your friend's bird, mine just wanted attention and found a weird way to get it.

My buddy Dave had a similar thing happen with his dog. He was setting up a whole new category system for his recipe blog and left his laptop open on the coffee table. His golden retriever decided to take a nap right across the keyboard and somehow managed to delete his entire drafts folder with a paw press. He ended up finding a backup from three months prior but still lost like seven partial posts. Worst part is the dog just wagged her tail the whole time he was panicking about it.
