Showerthought: I clicked 40 blogs with under 10 readers and found a guy restoring a 1978 tow truck in his driveway
I got tired of the big sites so I set a rule for myself: if a blog had more than 8 followers on my feed, I skipped it, and 40 clicks later I landed on a guy in Duluth posting weekly updates about a 1978 tow truck he's fixing up in his driveway one bolt at a time. The weird part is I read all 11 of his posts in one sitting even though I don't care about tow trucks at all, because he writes like he's talking to a buddy in his garage. Does anyone else have a blog like that where the subject doesn't matter and you just keep reading?
That whole "writing to a buddy" thing is the key, most big blogs feel like they're performing for an audience but this guy probably forgets anyone's even reading. Feels like the small follower count is what keeps it real, no sponsors or growth plans to ruin the vibe.
