Stumbled on a blog about fixing old film cameras that barely gets any visits

I spent 6 hours last Sunday trying to unstick a shutter on a 1960s Pentax I picked up at a flea market, and this one random blog with like 12 followers had the exact trick I needed. The guy who runs it posts detailed teardown guides with photos from his garage in Ohio, and it saved me from sending the camera to a shop for a $150 estimate. Does anyone else have a niche blog they check when they get stuck on something old and weird?

Oh man, that's exactly the kind of forum luck I live for. I had a similar thing with a busted 1970s sewing machine where a tiny sewing blog from a lady in Minnesota had the exact tension adjustment fix that was driving me crazy. Those hobbyists who post for themselves are often way more helpful than the big repair manuals, you know?

Yeah and the thing is those hobbyists have tried every fix themselves. They actually know what works and what doesn't. Big manuals just tell you the textbook way.
