The week a guy named Dale took over my blog promotion and got 4,000 views in 3 days
I spent 6 months posting my board game design blog to Reddit and Twitter with maybe 20 clicks total. Then a random commenter named Dale told me to focus on niche Facebook groups and write a single long post about game piece quality instead. What happened that made you finally crack the code on getting people to actually read your stuff?

4,000 views in 3 days" is insane compared to 20 clicks in 6 months. The trick was probably just finding the right audience that actually cared about game pieces. I had a similar thing happen with my art blog... posted to 5 small groups and got 500 views overnight. Sometimes you just gotta ditch the big platforms and find the smaller spots where people are already looking for what you make.

Yeah "finding the right audience" is exactly it. I made a little zine about local hiking trails last year and posted it in some big outdoor groups and got barely anything. Then I shared it in a tiny Facebook group for people who live in my specific county and it blew up, like 200 shares in a day. It's crazy how much the size of the platform matters less than if people are actually hunting for that thing. Your 500 overnight story sounds just like mine, it's a total game changer once you stop shouting into the void.
