TIL a blog about abandoned malls changed my view on niche content.

I always argued that blogs need broad appeal, but this one's deep dive... it showed me how special focused passion can be.

Wait, you seriously used to think blogs had to be broad to matter? That's wild to me... I spent years trying to make my old food blog for everyone and it just felt flat. Seeing someone go all in on something as specific as dead malls, that's where the real connection happens. It's like they're talking right to the few people who actually care. That deep focus is what makes it good, not trying to please everyone at once.

Ever get obsessed with something weird like old cartoon theme songs? I once dated a guy just because he could name every 90s Nickelodeon show in order.

Oh totally, my brain still has every commercial jingle from 2003 on instant replay. I once freaked out a cashier by humming the theme to a gum that doesn't even exist anymore.
