Why does the 2009 knitting blog with no comments still have the best yarn math ever

Last Tuesday I spent an hour digging through old craft blogs for a blanket pattern and landed on this site that hasn't been touched since 2009. The author posted a simple spreadsheet photo showing how to calculate yarn yardage for any size square, and it saved me from buying two extra skeins at Michael's in Dallas. I checked the comments section, zero replies, but that formula was more useful than any YouTube tutorial I've watched this month. It got me wondering how many abandoned gems like this are just sitting out there. Anybody else found a dead blog that quietly solved their biggest crafting problem?
