Book club debate got nasty over a 1984 ending, now I prep spoiler warnings

Last month our group of 9 split hard on whether Winston actually got redeemed or just broke. Two members nearly stopped talking over it, and one guy stormed out before dessert. Now I send a quick text the day before each meeting with any divisive themes listed, so nobody gets blindsided. Has anyone else had to add trigger or debate warnings to keep their club civil?
