Can we talk about the coffee shop I found near Portland that runs its own mini library swap

I stopped into a place called The Book Nook on Hawthorne last weekend and noticed they had a shelf of used books you can trade for any drink purchase. Has anyone else seen a setup like this that actually works without people just taking books?

Did your friend actually see anyone trading, or was it just people grabbing free books? My buddy tried something like that in Seattle and he said inside a week the shelf was empty except for a moldy cookbook and a Dan Brown novel nobody wanted.

My buddy set one up in his apartment lobby in Portland and @hannahs71 the first day someone actually left a signed copy of a Vonnegut novel. But after that it was all old textbooks and a stack of Reader's Digests from 2004. Someone must've grabbed the good stuff fast cause by month two it was just a shelf of junk. Did yours ever get any decent trades mixed in?
