Fantasy books are tearing my book club apart over plot holes
We started picking more fantasy novels this year. Now every debate turns into a fight about lazy writing and unreal characters. How do you handle strong opinions without people getting mad?

Ugh, we had the same meltdown over magic systems. Our fix was a "plot hole jar" - anyone who points one out has to suggest a fun patch for it. Like if a character forgets a power, maybe they were cursed by a random dragon that morning. It turns complaining into a silly game and you get some wild fan theories. Honestly, half the fun now is seeing how creative people get to cover the author's lazy writing.

Actually, I don't see it that way. To me, patching plot holes just hides lazy writing instead of calling it out.

But it's just a story... who cares that much?
