Hit 100 pages of a fantasy book before realizing there was a map at the front I should have been using the whole time.

Has anyone else missed a book's map for that long and felt dumb after finally finding it?

The third book in The Stormlight Archive i was 200 pages in before i realized there was a fold-out map at the back that showed the cities and routes i kept getting confused about. felt like such a clown lol. but honestly those maps are easy to miss, i blame the publisher for sticking it in the back instead of the front where it belongs. like why do they put maps in different spots from book to book? it's a total wild west out there with map placement.

oh man that's rough but honestly the map in Oathbringer is actually in the front if you have the standard hardcover version lol. it's those bigger fold-out ones in the paperback that get tucked weirdly sometimes. i've noticed Sanderson's books are actually pretty consistent with map placement compared to like Robert Jordan where you'd find a crucial map of some city randomly in the middle of chapter 27. the real crime is when they print it on that thin paper that rips if you look at it wrong
