A guy at a car wash in Tulsa said he only trusts reviews with 3 stars, and that broke my brain a little
I was waiting on my truck to dry off and this older guy started chatting about how he picks a new dentist or plumber. He said 5 star reviews tell him nothing because they could be fake or from the owner's cousin, but 3 star reviews are where people actually explain what went wrong and what still worked. He pulled up his phone and showed me a 3 star review of an HVAC place that said the tech was late but fixed it for $80 less than the quote, and he hired them off that alone. I've been reading reviews totally backwards for years, chasing the perfect ratings. Has anyone else started sorting by 3 stars or is this guy just playing 4D chess?
