Warning: That 5-star review for the HVAC place near me was totally fake

Had a guy from Apex Air come out last Tuesday to fix my AC unit. They charged me $450 for a part swap that I later found out cost them maybe $40. The kicker is I checked their reviews before calling and saw all these 5-star posts. Turns out 8 of them were from accounts that only reviewed that one business. I filed a complaint with the BBB but I doubt it'll do much. Has anyone else had luck getting fake reviews taken down from Google?

Fought Google for months but they eventually took down six of mine.

Did you check if those fake reviewers also commented on the same other local businesses, like plumbers or roofers, cause sometimes the same scam crew runs multiple fake review rings? That pattern is way easier to prove to Google than just "this looks fishy", and it might be the exact evidence they need to nuke all of them at once. Ive seen that trick work for a buddy who got a whole cluster of bogus reviews wiped after he mapped out the connections.
