Dropped $45 on a used bread maker at a church rummage sale, now my YouTube feed thinks I'm a homesteader
I made exactly 2 loaves, but the algorithm now serves me nothing but sourdough starters and chicken coop tours. Did I waste the money or did I just get adopted by a whole new internet? Anybody else get typecast by one dumb purchase?

Honestly that $45 sounds like money well spent even if you never make a third loaf. A church rummage sale bread maker is like a weird portal, you stick in a few bucks and suddenly the internet thinks you have six chickens and a compost pile. The algorithm doesn't do half measures, one purchase and it files you under "person who churns butter now."
But here's where I see it different, that's not a waste, that's free entertainment. You got two loaves AND a whole fake identity out of it, which is a better deal than most stuff you'd buy for 45 bucks. Embrace the sourdough videos, maybe you actually learn something. Worst case you got fresh bread and a funny story, best case you're the guy on your block with the good toast.
