Got roasted on my gardening post for using peat pots - switched to soil blocks and holy cow what a difference
Some random commenter on a plant sub told me my seedlings were leggy because I was using those little peat pots. I was like nah its my lights. Turns out they were right. 3 weeks ago I switched to just making soil blocks with a $15 tool from Amazon and my tomato starts are way sturdier. No transplant shock either. Anyone else get stubborn about a method then realize the internet was actually right for once?

The internet being right feels like one of those things you just don't want to admit. I spent an entire summer convinced my grow lights were the issue and bought three different setups before someone on a forum said "it's the pots dummy." Soil blocks finally got me decent roots instead of that sad little pot-bound mess. Now I just look at plant subs before I buy anything new. Saves me money and embarrassment all at once.

Oh man, @the_robin, same boat here. I had a whole shelf of sad succulents that I kept blaming on my watering schedule, but turns out it was the soil mix I was using. Someone on a houseplant sub told me to just add perlite and stop overthinking it. Total game changer, like night and day. I swear half my plant problems were just me being stubborn and not listening to strangers online earlier. Now I check forums before I even buy a new pot, saves me from buying all those fancy grow lights I didn't need.
