My YouTube recommendations kept showing me high-end chef knives until I got one and realized my 10 year old Henckels works exactly the same
After someone in a cooking sub told me that most home cooks can't tell the $80 knife from the $400 one in a blind chop test, I'm starting to wonder if the algorithm just wants me to spend money on stuff I don't actually need anyone else notice how they push the premium version of whatever you already have?

The algorithm definitely wants us buying things we don't need, I had the same thing with running shoes.
