Pro tip: pick the $9 data cable over the $45 one at the airport kiosk

Flew out of PDX last month, forgot my charger cable in the rental. Kiosk had two options, the expensive braided one and a cheap flimsy looking one. I grabbed the cheap one since it was a tossaway, figured I'd buy a good one later. It charged my phone faster than my old one and it's still working after 30 flights home. Anyone else found the budget knockoff actually beating the name brand at those travel shops?
