Question about the music app that heard me mention rain and fed me 40 sad songs

Last Tuesday I was on my porch in Denver talking to my neighbor about how dry it's been, and my phone was sitting there with the music app open, so it must have heard the word rain and then it played me 40 straight sad songs in a row. Three years ago this same app just gave me my saved playlist and left me alone, but now it thinks it knows my mood from one word it half caught. Is there a way to turn off whatever mic setting does this, or do I have to put my phone in the other room to listen to the radio?
