Serious question, which YouTube tutorial is worse: the one that's 3 minutes with zero detail or the one that's 45 minutes with 10 minutes of actual info?

I was trying to fix a stuck drawer slide on my old dresser last night. First video I clicked showed a guy using a hammer and a butter knife in under 4 minutes, no explanation of why it works. Next one was a 50 minute deep dive where the guy spent 15 minutes talking about his childhood cat before touching a tool. Which approach do you think is more helpful for a beginner, and has anyone else run into this split?

See it all the time now. Everything's either rushed through with zero explanation or padded out to hit some length goal. Makes me miss old instruction manuals that just had clear pictures and a few sentences.

Honestly never thought about it that way until now, but you're totally right @nancy154. Those old manuals were a breeze, just flip to the page and done. Now I gotta sit through a 10 minute video just to find out I was missing a screw.
