Spotify kept feeding me a band with 12 monthly listeners and I clicked expecting garbage
Last Tuesday my Discover Weekly put a track from a band called Hollow Pines on my list. They had 12 monthly listeners and the album art looked like it was made in MS Paint by somebody's cousin. I clicked play just to laugh at it and ended up listening to the whole 7 song record twice. The guy can actually sing and the songs are recorded badly on purpose, not by accident. Now I feel bad for every 15 listener band I scrolled past because the cover looked like trash. Does anyone else have a specific algorithm pick that turned out to be actually good?
