Spotify kept feeding me a song called "Cricket Meditation" for 3 months straight
So this started back in March when I was grading papers and left my phone on the couch. Spotify's Discover Weekly slipped in a 45 minute track called "Cricket Meditation: Rain Loop" and I guess I didn't skip it. Next thing I know it's showing up in every single mix, my workout playlist, even my "cooking dinner" station. I finally grabbed a screenshot when it appeared 4 times in one day at my desk. The label was just a stock animal sounds company from Ohio with zero other music. I hit the "don't recommend this artist" button and it came back two days later under a slightly different name called "Night Cricket Sounds." My students think the algorithm is punishing me for not paying for premium. Has anyone figured out how to actually kill a recommendation loop like this, or do I just have to wait it out?
