That YouTube cooking channel's algorithm kept showing me gourmet recipes after I watched one video on how to boil an egg
I literally just wanted to learn how to not overcook a hard boiled egg after burning my hand on steam last Tuesday, but now my recommended feed is nothing but sous vide duck breast and molecular gastronomy stuff. It took me ten minutes of scrolling to find a basic scrambled eggs recipe again. Why does the algorithm think I'm suddenly a pro chef just because I looked up one beginner tip?

Last week I had the exact same thing happen but with woodworking tutorials... watched one video about sanding a table and now my feed is all dovetail joints and epoxy river tables. I used to tell people the algorithm was smart but now I think it just panics and throws everything at you. Makes me wonder if the machine is as confused as we are, honestly.

Yeah the algorithm is wild sometimes, my friend accidentally clicked a video about how to fold a fitted sheet and now her feed is nothing but Marie Kondo style home organizing tips." She told me she spent twenty minutes trying to get back to cat videos again. I feel like the algorithm just runs with whatever small thing you do and assumes you're starting a whole new personality.
