The algorithm recommended me a 3 hour documentary about concrete and I watched the whole thing

I was scrolling YouTube last night after looking up how to fix a crack in my driveway and the next suggested video was a 3 hour deep dive on Roman concrete. I clicked it thinking I'd skip through and ended up watching the whole thing at 2am. The guy even tested modern mix ratios against ancient ones with actual samples from a quarry in Italy. Has anyone else gotten stuck on a random hyper-specific recommendation that turned out to be surprisingly good?

Wait so they actually took an entire quarry sample from Italy and flew it over here or shipped it just to test it against modern bags of Quickrete? That level of dedication for a YouTube video about concrete mixing is absolutely insane. I mean I think that guy might be a bit obsessed but honestly that kind of commitment is what turns a random watch into something you actually remember for months. There is so much trial and error in old Roman construction that nobody even tries to replicate anymore. Most modern concrete lasts maybe 50 years tops and these guys were making stuff that held up for 2000 years underwater. It is genuinely wild that a 3 hour video about rocks and water can completely change how you look at every sidewalk and parking garage you walk past.
