Finally got the old Triumph to start after 3 months in the garage

I was out in the driveway on Saturday after replacing the entire fuel line on my '72 Spitfire... turned the key and nothing. Turned out it was the ignition coil all along, $30 part. Anyone else ever chase a problem for weeks only to find it was something simple?

Did you also have that moment where you just stared at the car for like five minutes feeling stupid? That's how it goes with old British cars, you end up replacing half the system only to find the real issue was some tiny cheap part. I've noticed this is how life works in general though. People spend weeks worrying about big complicated problems when the actual fix is usually something small we overlooked. Like my buddy who thought his business was failing because of the economy but it turned out he just had the wrong price on his website for six months. Ever find yourself doing that with non-car stuff too?

Honestly @ryan_stone I used to roll my eyes at stuff like that but you're totally right, it's wild how we always assume the worst when half the time it's just some dumb little thing we missed.
