Six weeks on a simple brake line swap, what's your record for a 'quick fix'?
I got a '68 Mustang in my garage in Nashville, and the rear brake line rusted out. I figured one afternoon, maybe 4 hours max, right? Wrong. First the fittings were seized, then I snapped a bleed screw, then the replacement line from the parts store had the wrong flare angle. I ended up re-doing the whole rear axle hard line twice before I got it to stop leaking. Total time was six weeks of evenings and weekends, mostly because I kept ordering the wrong pre-bent lines. Has anyone else sunk way more time into what should be a half-day job, or am I just the unlucky one?
