Heard a guy at the auto parts store say he only uses synthetic oil in his 1965 Mustang

He was dead serious too, said it's better for the seals and he hasn't had a leak in 3 years. Has anyone else made the switch from conventional and noticed a difference?

Funny you mention that, my neighbor put synthetic in his old pickup and swore it ran quieter. I tried it in my Corolla once and honestly couldn't tell a difference, but my seals were already shot so maybe that's why. Now I just run whatever's on sale and hope for the best. Did the Mustang guy say anything about oil pressure changes?

Wait @the_karen, did the Mustang guy actually check his oil pressure with a real gauge or was he just going off the dash light? I've seen those idiot lights stay green even when pressure is barely hanging on, especially on older Fords. My buddy's 5.0 would show fine until we slapped a mechanical gauge on it and realized it was running at like 8 psi at idle. What motor was he running?
