Heard a kid call my fuel injection pump a carburetor

Saturday at the Cars and Coffee in Dayton, this teenager pointed at my 1985 diesel Mercedes and asked how I kept the carb clean. I laughed but then realized he never saw a mechanical injection pump, let alone one with a primer lever. Anyone else had to explain old tech to a younger crowd, or am I just the old timer now?
