Hit 150,000 miles on my 1971 C10 and it felt like a birthday

Rolled past 150,000 on the odometer last Tuesday while driving through downtown Akron, and I had to pull over just to make sure I wasn't seeing things. That old 350 has been rebuilt once back in 2009, but the rest of the drivetrain is all original, still shifts through all 3 gears smooth as butter. The motor mounts are sagging and the speedo cable squeals under 40 mph, but hitting that number made me realize how many small fixes added up over the years. Anyone else got a truck or car that just crossed a big milestone and made you stop and check the clock?

Made me stop and check the clock" hit me right in the gut. That's exactly what I did when my 87 F150 rolled over 200k last fall. Pulled into a gas station and just sat there staring at the odometer for a solid minute. Those old trucks feel like they're alive sometimes, like they know when they hit a big number. The motor mounts on mine are shot too, whole cab shakes at a red light. But honestly, that's part of the charm. A truck that's too smooth feels like it's hiding something.
