Pro tip: Found my '58 Chevy's vacuum leak with a dollar bill at a gas station
Was filling up at Shell on Route 9 last Saturday and the idle was all over the place. Stuck a dollar bill along the vacuum line connections and watched it flutter til I found the crack near the intake. Anyone else use weird tricks to find vacuum leaks?

Three years ago I used a piece of bacon to find a vacuum leak on my old Ford pickup. The grease from the bacon sizzled right where the hose was cracked, which was GROSS but also kind of genius in a desperate way. Your dollar bill trick is WAY more classy than my snack-based diagnostic method.
