Vent: That whole "simple 30 minute brake job" ate my entire Saturday
I figured swapping pads and rotors on my '67 Mustang would be a quick thing, but one of the caliper bolts was seized so bad I had to torch it and drill it out for nearly 4 hours. Anyone else run into rusted hardware that just refuses to budge on old cars?

Man, @the_joseph, have you ever actually worked on a 60s Ford? Those caliper bolts are junk from the factory, a breaker bar just twists the head off before the threads break free.

You ever think maybe that bolt wasn't actually seized, but you just didn't have the right tool for the job? I've pulled apart plenty of old rigs where a good breaker bar and some patience would've saved you the torch and drill. Four hours sounds like a learning experience more than a hardware failure.
