Chose the new Guardians run over the current Avengers event last Wednesday

Had $20 for comics and had to pick between the new Guardians run and the Avengers crossover. Grabbed Guardians issue #3 and honestly it's way more fun than I expected. Has anyone else found a surprise favorite run lately?

The visual storytelling in that Guardians run has some of the best panel work I've seen in months. There's this one double-page spread in issue #3 where Rocket is trying to fix a console during a fight, and the way the action flows across the page actually makes you feel the chaos. Feels like the writer finally remembered these characters are supposed to be a weird, dysfunctional family, not just heroes in space. Most people overlook how a solid layout can carry a weaker plot, but here the art team is doing heavy lifting that makes the whole thing click.
