Got made fun of for reading comics on the bus, now I own it

Back in 2018 I used to hide my floppies inside a folder so nobody on the 42 route in Chicago would see me reading them. Last week a kid asked if I was reading something cool and I just held up my copy of X-Men #1 and talked about it for the whole ride. Anyone else hit that point where you stop caring what strangers think about your pull list?

Told my buddy Dave about this and he laughed, said he used to hide his Saga trades in a paper bag on the L train for like a year. Then one day some old lady peeked in and asked if it was any good, so he just handed it to her reading the first issue over her shoulder. Now he brings the whole stack out in the open, even reads them at the bar after work. He says the worst thing that ever happened was one dude asked him for a rec and they ended up trading books for a month.
