The week my local shop had a 50% off back issue sale and it was chaos

So last Saturday I walked into my LCS and they had a random 50% off sale on all back issues from 2010 to 2020. I grabbed like 15 books for under $30 which felt insane. But then I overheard two guys almost fighting over a first print of Saga #1. One guy said 'I was here first' and the other said 'I had it in my hand.' That kind of tension made the whole vibe weird for a bit. On one hand I love getting deals but on the other hand the store felt like a WWE ring. Anyone else have a sale day turn into a mess like that?

Wandered into a sale like that a few years back and some dude tried to negotiate the marked down price on a Spider-Man issue like he was haggling at a flea market. The owner just stared at him until he put it down and walked away.

Oh I TOTALLY get what you mean @richardharris. I had the same thing happen at a neighborhood garage sale a couple years back where a guy tried to haggle down a 50 cent issue of X-Men that was ALREADY marked down from a dollar. The owner just kept repeating "it's fifty cents, man" until the guy shuffled off all red-faced. It was SO awkward to watch but also kind of hilarious because the guy had a stack of comics he was clearly trying to flip for a profit. Some people just HAVE to try and get a better deal even when it's insultingly cheap already. Seriously, you leave those flea market haggling habits at the door, you know?
